Special Encounter List (2024)

Overview[]

There are several Pokémons available in Pokémon Desolation that are not encountered in the wild, but rather as events or in the Credit Shop in each town. Here is a list of all of those. For more details on a specific one, refer to the corresponding Area Page.

Keneph Beach[]

-There is a Buizel looking at the sea. Give it a PokéCandy to catch it. Buizel's level 15 and will automatically come with Tail Slap as a move.

Keneph Jungle[]

-A Pansage can be found here. It'll run away after interacting with them, prompting a chase across the rest of the jungle before letting you finally battle and catch them. The Pansage is level 15.
-Next to where you finally catch the Pansage, behind a waterfall, is a secret cave with a panel you must repeatedly interact with in order to open a way and get the Blue Piece. A level 15 Croagunk will be there for you to catch, coming with bullet punch, taunt, poison sting, and Mud-Slap.
-A level 12 Swablu can be found outside of the entrance to one of the Keneph Jungle caves. It requires a PokéCandy to catch it.
- Beside the lake where you get the second Spice Powder, there is a level 15 Kriketot you can catch.

Redcliff Town[]

-A Budew can be traded with a trainer in the house left of the Pokémon Center in exchange of Lombre. Those can be caught on Route 1 or by evolving a Lotad from the jungle.
-A girl in the Redcliff Town Hall will give you a Skitty if you talk to her.

Route 1[]

-A level 20 Psyduck can be caught for a PokéCandy. It comes with Mud Bomb.
-Inside the Salon, there is an Igglybuff you can feed a PokéCandy to obtain.
-At the top of Route 1, there are multiple Combee you can battle and catch.

Vejyr[]

-A level 20 Magby is found in the place that becomes available once the player joins the Rangers on Route 2.
-During the ranger sidequest "I need help" where you rescue a hiker from a Heatmor, said Heatmor can be caught at level 25.
-During Serenity's quest from Blackview City, inspecting the Moltres statue in the center of Vejyr prompts a battle with a level 40 Darumaka that can be caught.
-In the last cavern, a level 25 Sizzlipede can be caught.

Route 2[]

-A level 20 Lillipup is available on the left of the Route 2 village. It will join you after being fed a PokéCandy, and comes bundled with one of the three elemental fangs
-A Smoochum is received as a reward after completing one of the Ranger Quests "A Rogue Toad" from the Route 2 Rangers' Guild.

Celeste City[]

-A level 20 Chingling can be found on the bottom left part of the city. It will join you after being fed a PokéCandy, bundled with Wish and Icy Wind.
-At the Pokémon center, a scientist will trade you an Elekid for a Houndour.
-The credit shop sells the following: Level 18 Growlithe (9 Credits), Level 21 Slowpoke (13 Credits), Level 18 Cacnea (9 Credits)

Weeping Hill[]

-In the last section of the Weeping Depths, read all of the broken gravestones to unlock a secret room where you can find a level 25 Aron.
-On the bottom floor of Weeping Hill, you can find a Galarian Yamask that will join you after defeating Aderyn in Celeste City.

Celeste Labyrinth[]

-The Credit shop sells: Level 20 Growlithe (9 Credits), Level 20 Pichu (8 Credits), Level 20 Houndour (9 Credits)
- In the upper middle area of the maze, there are multiple Pineco that can be battled and caught. You can also retrieve the TM Pin Missile in the same area.
- Following the right path of the upper area, you can find a Maractus egg.

Silver Rise[]

-At the top of Silver Rise, in the locked house, a Fletchling can be found
-At the camp at the bottom of the mountain, a Makuhita can be battled after talking to the NPCs in the village. Defeating it will allow you to catch it. It is level 35 and knows one of the elemental punches.
-After clearing the main story and completing the entirety of the Ranger Quests, a new section of Silver Rise will open, in the lake where you can use Surf. Exploring this new section will lead you to a cave with sliding puzzle. Getting past those, will give you an opportunity to face and catch a level 70 Articuno.

Silver Forest[]

-In the tunnel that leads to the forest from the camp, a wild level 34 Roggenrola can be battled and caught.
-After interacting with all the crystals in the forest and climbing up the ice pyramid, a level 40 Froslass can be battled and caught. It comes with Wake-Up Slap.
-After advancing Serenity's quest enough in Blackview City, a couple of level 50 Sawsbuck can be caught here.
-Right before fighting Garret in his gym match, while undertaking the quest of retrieving Grid Fragments, one is kept here by a Dunsparce. Feeding it a PokéCandy and defeating it will give you the opportunity to catch them. They're level 65 and knows Dragon Rush, Rock slide, Roost and Double Edge.
- In the upper right corner of the map, there are a few Snom gathered around a crystal. Once approached, the Snom will scatter, but one will be left behind. You can battle and catch this Snom.

Addenfall Town[]

-The credit shop here consists of level 25 Carvanha (14 Credits), level 28 Oricorio(16 Credits), level 22 Mareep (12 Credits), level 20 Ralts (30 Credits)

Addenfall Woods[]

-A level 30 Swablu with Roost appears in the middle of the forest after beating Amelia at Addenfall Grove. You need a PokéCandy to lure them.
-After finding the missing diary pages and reading the whole Diary in the Old Manor in Silver Forest, getting the fisherman at the entrance of the woods to move by talking to a woman in Addenfall Town, a Level 55 Ambipom can be battled in the small cave south of the woods. Defeating it rewards you with a level 30 Aipom with agility, tail slap, rock blast or bullet Seed, and fake out.
- In the southeastern area of Addenfall Woods, there is an accessible Hidden Cave. After beating the ghost inside, you can proceed to find an Ambipom.- At night, you can find a wild Joltik towards the middle of the map.

Blackview City[]

-In a house near the patch of grass in the northwest part of the city, a man will trade you Treecko for a Jynx. Not that the only way to get a Jynx is by evolving/breeding the Smoochum found in Silver Forest.
-Northwest of the southern Pokémon Center, in another house, is a trade for a Munchlax in exchange for a Pikachu.
-To the right of the Pokémon Center is a little spot with two boxes near the water separated by one square. Go that that square between the two and use a Pokécandy to catch a level 42 Staryu.
-After the events of the Blackview Siege, return to the place where Emily was detained in the Blackview Power Plant to find a level 32 Scraggy with Knockoff.
-After helping the Teal Panther boss retrieving it's four lost Pokemon, you are offered an egg of any of the four lines. As of Episode 6, the options are a Hatenna which comes with Nuzzle, Milcery with Last Resort, Cleffa with Fake Tears, and Togepi with Morning Sun.
-The credit shops of both Pokémon Center sells: level 27 Scraggy (32 Credits), level 30 Magnemite (30 Credits), level 26 Machop (22 Credits), level 20 Ralts (30 Credits).-The Blackview market sells: level 34 Pancham (16 Credits), level 34 Oranguru (17 Credits), level 34 Helioptile (25 Credits)

Old Woodland[]

-In the middle of the second area, just past the Ether on the ground, is a small passage between the trees leading to an optional area with a fight between a Braviary and a Mandibuzz. Battle both to gain access to a Rufflet egg that comes with Roost and Superpower as egg moves.
- Inside of a house in the Eastern area of the Old Woodland, you can trade a Fletchling egg to Black Belt inside for a Mystery Egg. This Mystery Egg is randomized, and can contain one of the following: A Starly, Rotom, Litwick, Cottonee, Mareanie, Larvesta, Riolu, Rookidee, Galarian Corsola, Axew, Sneasel, Impidimp, Pawniard,Gastly, Vullaby, Minior, Sandile, or Ralts.
-Near that same house, after talking to the Old Man outside(who will give you the TM Cut), go directly South and there will be a Sirfetch'd. Interact with it, then use Cut. The Sirfetch'd will be impressed and join you.

Cellia Docks[]

-The Credit Shop sells: level 25 Buneary (13 Credits), level 28 Wingull (25 Credits)
-After coming back from the Dreamscape and going back to the Fox Hideout where several Pokemon were in cages, Talking to the remaining pokemon will let you catch them, meaning you can get a level 40 Eelectrik and a level 40 Komala. Trying to get the Type:Null will prompt him to run away to the Cellia Sewers, where it will become available.

Cellia Central[]

-The Credit Shop sells: level 32 Vulpix (31 Credits), level 31 Inkay (32 Credits), level 29 Flabebe (27 Credits)
-One lady on the left side of the city lost the key of her apartment, once you bring her the Mysterious Key that can be bought at the Cellia Market for 8 Credits, you'll be able to catch a level 42 Gligar in her house.
-After defeating 5 Elite trainers in the Cellia Fight Club, exiting the club will get you jumped by two grunts. Defeating them and talking about it to Garett will lead you to another battle that will reward you with a Deino egg, with Fire Fang as an egg move.

Cellia South[]

-The Credit Shop sells: level 32 Vulpix (31 Credits), level 30 Tyrogue (20 Credits)

Cellia Sewers[]

-After clearing the sewers in Cellia South, you'll be able to enter the sewers from the center of the market in Central. You'll find a Sewer Key that opens the part of the sewers in the northwest corner of Central Cellia. Here, you'll find a wild level 25 Squirtle.
-After trying to get the Type:Null at the docks, you'll find it here, in the room near the Central market entrance, at level 45.

Undercity[]

-A merchant sells a level 5 Ditto for 35 Credits.

Odis Village[]

-After collecting the Beamer Grid Fragments (one at the beginning of Dreamer's Copse, one in the part of Dreamscape Wildlands South that must be accessed from the West Wildlands, and one in the southern part of the Dreamscape Wildlands East), returning them to the scientist will net you a level 50 Porygon.

Dreamscape Wildlands South[]

-During your second trip to the Dreamscape, talking to the construction crew will have them tell you about an Excadrill causing problems. It is located in the part of the Settlement that must be accessed from the West Settlement. If you confront the Excadrill but refuse to fight it, the next time you go there, a level 50 Drilbur will be there for you to catch. It comes with Rapid Spin.

Dreamscape Wildlands East[]

-If you’ve accepted the quest from the North Settlement and go all the way to the right to the section with the houses, the leftmost one will be open, while it isn’t if you didn’t. Talk to the woman in it, and you’ll be able to catch a level 50 Sneasel with Icicle Crash. If you tell her about Fred right away, or if you select “tell her your name”, “tell her about Fred”, “Dream”, after you come back here from talking with Fred, you’ll find the house empty and a level 50 Ghastly with Grudge lying around. If you select “Tell her your name”, “Tell her about Fred”, and “Reality”, talking with Fred after that and following him back to the home you left will get you a level 50 Riolu with Bullet Punch.

-In the Fox base, read all of the diaries until you find a computer chip. Put that chip in the machine in the second-to-last-room to get a level 25 Turtwig with Stealth Rock.

Cellia North[]

-In the bottom right part of the map, a kid will ask you to trade a Marowak in exchange of a Pinsir.
-In a house at the north of the city, a man will ask you for an Unfeazant for a Solosis.
-After clearing the quest with the detective and fighting the foxes in their hideout in Undercity for the second time, go to the Cellia Manor and to the rooftop. Here, battle Cedric to receive a level 50 Eevee with Curse and Wish.
-After finishing the quests of the Building Crew, you'll be given the opportunity to take their Timburr with you. It is level 20 and knows Mach Punch.

Ruby Island[]

-After battling the squad of Rhyhorn, a single Rhyhorn will be left wanting to join your team. It is level 60 and knows Horn Drill, Rock Slide, Superpower and Drill Run.
-After finishing the exploration of Ruby Island and beating Aderyn, coming back to the clearing, you will find a level 40 Murkrow wanting to join your team. It has Roost and Brave Bird.
