I am going to start a regular #gratitude post celebrating amazing people that I work with, and my first post has to be dedicated to the lovely Bec Mason who gently eased me back into the world of work through her Relational & Restorative Practice Schools Training. Bec has always been an inspiration to me. She lives what she talks and is incredibly skilled at delivering engaging training (the word bingo got a tiny bit competitive at one stage !)Relational & Restorative Practice is the evidence based practice that explores how we can make, mend and maintain healthy, positive relationships and her training helped complement the dance and wellbeing schools module Pamodzi Creatives CIC has designed and delivering to primary schools. It was a privilege to receive the Civic Award for the work of Pamodzi Creatives and the passion project that is the Inspirational Women of Portsmouth. There is such an amazing tribe behind developing each year’s celebration, and I want to thank the wonderful Non-Executive team Debbie Smith, Hannah Roper, Sarah Roads and Jane Moody for volunteering so much of their time, and thank you to the creative team Josh Daniel, Tamzin C. Linked in Hive mind …do I know any Primary School contacts who might be interested in having me deliver dance for the next academic year ? My dance teaching work is how I am able to volunteer for the Pamodzi Creatives CIC Inspirational Women of Portsmouth project and award event. I have over 16 years experience in being the lead practitioner for both Southampton and Portsmouth School Sports Partnership delivering REAL dance, bespoke modules and CPD sessions. I recently trained and developed a Mindful dance module with the support of the wonderful Claire Tamplin. It celebrates individuals making a positive impact within their communities, whatever the context. The word Pamodzi means together. Last night, Pamodzi Creatives CIC was proud to support Dadzclub The Parenting Network for their International Men’s Day Award event. Ironically, I lost my voice and struggled to show big love to Matthew Foster FRSA , April Gilbert and the team around them, but my two little kings in the making stepped in to help their mama.. (my 11 year old was capturing some ‘creative angles’ in his filming Gavin Carmann have a word with your nephew 🤣). And to all the men that continue to walk alongside me in all the chaotic adventures…who I also sometimes #drag kicking and screaming into….thank you. I see you, I honour you. You are important. One of the positive take aways from lock down was my discovery of Thinking Classroom resources.
